Good things that happened to me in 2020.

Now that we're have successfully left 2020 behind us, I thought it would be fun to ho over some good things that actually happened during that year.  I don't care what anyone says, that year was not a complete shit show. Okay most of it was,  but not all of it.

While in lockdown!

~ I will admit that I was enjoying being in lockdown in the beginning.  I got caught up on my sleep and I was able to get caught up on binge watching some shows I wanted to watch.
~ I was able to save up a lot of money because we weren't going out to eat everyday. By the end of the lockdown I had 3k saved up!
~ I was able to get a lot of blog posts started. I just need to edit them and do some scheduled posting.

After the lockdown!

~ I was able to help my niece out by paying her first months college tuition for her.
~ I started building up my credit scores. On January 1st my scores were so low! Only my Equifax was at 520, that's it. Now they are rising fast!
~ I got my drivers permit  and now I'm working on getting my license.
~ I started a budget and am working from that budget, so fast I'm doing on with it.

Quarantine Musings

This quarantine has been both a blessing and a curse for me. Normally I am a homebody, I prefer the sanctuary of my own home and the tend to spend most of my time in my bedroom. Really it just means I have no life. LOL

I do get out here and there, but before this whole lock down I really went to work and then came home. Every so often I would go see family or go out for a quick meal with them. That was my routine.

March 12, 2020 was my last day at work, the store was closed at the end of that day and we went into lock down. Next thing I know we are all put into a quarantine! Once this lock down kicked in, I found myself self isolating in my bedroom with my coffee pot and super soft blankets and living in my pajama's.

My mom has health issues and I'm trying to stay away in hopes of her not getting sick. My brother still works and he does the same and isolates himself into his bedroom to avoid getting either of us sick.

Mind you I don't mind being inside, it's the introvert in me. I actually really enjoy it. What it driving me crazy is that the options to leave and go eat at my favorite diner, or go get a hair cut were taken away. I miss the diner's food and I butchered my hair trying to cut off the split ends. The ends are pretty much all lop sided. LOL

This quarantine fatigue is horrible. All I'm really doing is sleeping! I have done a lot of dreaming since being in lock down. Mostly because I'm sleeping so much. Dreaming of the future and of the past as well. The future has changed considerably and I'm looking forward to it with an open mind and a heart filled with positivity. While it's nice to be able to take naps every day, my sleep routine got to be horribly out of whack and is completely screwed up.

My mindset is positive at the moment, yeah it wavers here and there, but all in all it's positive and I'm working hard to keep it this way. It's been super hard to stick with my normal schedule and in the end I've created a new one. This new schedule has currently turned me from a morning person to a night owl. This isn't a bad thing because I tend to get more things done online at night.

So I did something stupid...

So I did something stupid... I cut my hair..I had so much split ends and every time I ran my hands through my hair it would irritate me.
Then I see posts about people butchering their hair and ugh!
I followed the current trend... is it a trend?
Luckily I have my HSN and it'll grow back super fast as usual when I take these. LOL
So for now my hair feels better, no split ends and it's pony tails and hair clips for me!

"Mental heath is a huge problem right now."

Punisher actor Ben Barnes interviewd a doctor who lives in Britain on and Instagram video chat. They were talking about his, the doctor's, experiences with this Corona Virus. Wow!!

Unless you're married to one we honestly don't know what the health care professionals go through. You all think you're going thru hell being stuck home with your children or being stuck in your home?

Try going to work and trying to care for the sick and pray that you don't get sick either. This live chat Ben is having is a HUGE eye opener!

"Mental heath is a huge problem right now."

The doctor just stated something that is 100% true when it comes to this virus. He's so right everyone is dealing with their own battles with their mental health from being caged in their homes or going to work!

~ Store clerks who have to deal with ungrateful customers. I am grateful for you all!

~ Health care practitioners who have to go to work and then worry non stop about bringing this virus home to their loved ones. I am grateful for you all!

~ Then there is law enforcement, firefighters and EMT's who are out and about dealing with the worry about bringing it home as well. I am grateful for you all!

Everyone is dealing with their own trauma from this and we each need to check in on each other. Check in one your elderly neighbors and family members.

If your friends or family are quiet contact them! Ask them what they watched on Netflix, what'd they have for dinner? Do they need anything??

This is gonna hurt, but needs to be said...

I am a homebody. I love being a home where it's comfy and cozy. This quarantine is kind of nothing to an introvert. We enjoy our solitude, well I really do. lol

The only thing I dislike about the quarantine is the option to go out whenever I want to. Mind you I can go for walks, etc.. but to go to the diner for breakfast or run to the store and find exactly what I need on the shelves.

That's what I miss. I miss grocery shopping like normal people. We don't need to horde food. The world is NOT ending. Buy what you need, and think about other people. That's just common sense.

There's a handful of people on my Facebook who go to food pantry's. That's great, been there done that, but going to 4-5 different food pantry's to stock up is just plain selfish. There are people who could use that food that you are getting.

People seriously need to think about other people when they horde food from both the food pantry's and grocery stores. There are elderly who can't chance the grocery stores so they go to the food pantry's. I met quite a few of them! I've also met some who were turned away because there was no food left.

We are ALL dealing with this together. It's time we looked out for each other instead of just ourselves.

WTF People!

Let me tell you something... People are crazy!
They're hoarding everything they can get their hands on. Mostly this stuff right here!

They are hoarding all of the toilet paper, hand sanitizer, disinfectant spray and face masks, buying cases of them at a time!

There are some who are buying cases so they can try to sell the stuff for outrageous prices online. One woman bought 17-19 canisters of BABY formula and tried to sell them for $70 and if you wanted the scoop that comes with the formula it's an extra $10! WTF!!

Stop! You're making it hard for people who really need things. Some of us go shopping and just get what's needed, we have manners.. we don't go overboard and we respect other's!
