Was Molly Weasley a bad mother?

No in fact Molly Weasley wasn't a bad mother. Considering everything she was dealing with. Overprotective yes, but not bad.

She raised her children right and they all achieved great things. They all had amazing careers and she also had a hand in supporting
Harry and being a second mum to him. 

Charlie : Dragonologist 

Bill : Cursebreaker

Percy : Ministry of Magic.

Fred & George : Inventors & businessmen.

Ron : Auror

Ginny : Pro quidditch player & later a journalist.

Molly Weasley is a mother who fought to protect her children against the darkness that is all things Voldermort and his army of psychos. She tried to heal the relationship between Percy and the family.
 
She knows what it's like to live with the bare minimum, I mean c'mon they weren't a wealthy family at all, and she worked with her hubby's limited salary with 7 kids!

She is a mother who loves her kids enough to want them to have a better life than they had during their childhood. Absolutely nothing wrong with wanting your child to succeed!

What is your “there I said it” about Harry Potter?

 My "There I said it" moment was as I was watching adult Harry with his family, giving his son advice and watching them waving as the train took them off to Hogwarts.

 

I had said that the story could continue with the child that Bellatrix had with Voldermort. Mind you that wasn't in the movie, but c'mon she is the only one really crazy enough to actually bear him a child!

The Cursed Child came out and I read it in a weekend and in the end, the girl was trying to revive her father... VOLDERMORT! Her mother was none other than Bellatrix! 

This could be the beginning of another series of books with Harry's son as the hero in school and his dad working his magic at the ministry.

They have to kill Ginny off though... she's pointless and Harry should never have hooked up with her... what on earth were you thinking JK?

Muggles and Spells

 

Living in this Muggle world of ours is a bit difficult at the moment. With this pandemic.. thanks for nothing China, it seems like a good idea to get lost in a book or two.
 

I'm currently reading the first Harry Potter novel and as I got lost in the novel I realized just how much better life would be if we could use magic to get things done. 

~ With Floo powder we could travel anywhere and not need to use cars. There would be absolutely NO reason to be late for work with the floo powder at your disposal! 

~ Incendo would be amazing during the winter. It's a charm that is used to keep warm. Imagine standing outside waiting and freezing your booty off. Just cast Incendo and your nice and toasty!

~ Scourgify will clean any mess that's made. 

~ Alohamora will unlock doors, so if you forget your keys then you'll have no problem getting inside the house.

~ Legilimens will give you the power to read minds. Want to know what someone's thinking? Then you'd need this spell.

~ Reparo will repair things. So no calling a repair guy, you could do it yourself!

~ Glisseo turns stairs into slides! Oh the fun that could be had there!!!

~ Accio summons things to you! 

Owls are not pets!

Ever since I saw the Harry Potter movies I always dreamed of owning my very own Hedwig. This little owl hangs from the Christmas lights on my desk. He hangs right in front of my writing books and over my mini alter.
This little guy doesn’t have a name right now, but my youngest niece was thinking of giving him one. I would love to have a real owl, but I don’t think I would be able to care for it correctly and it’s also illegal to own them as pets in some places.

Here in the USA to own an owl as a pet is against the law unless you have a special license. Owls prefer to be in secluded places and due to their size if you were to own one you would need to build a huge flight cage. They need a lot of space to spread their wings and to fly around. They can get up to 6 feet with a 6 ft wingspan… that my Friends is BIG! 

Their talons are razor sharp and you could get some pretty deep cuts from those babies. As everyone knows they are extremely noisy at night.. especially at night. Not all owls hoot, some screech and a few can let out blood chilling screams! No one needs those screams at night.. imagine sleeping and waking up to that scream.. AAKKK!

I think I’ll stick with this little guy and my stuffed Hedwig owl. Quieter this way!

My toes are cold....

I'm kidding... maybe. The house is actually pretty warm tonight so they aren't really that cold... unless I'm going outside for something that is.

The slippers I'm wearing are actually a size 5 that have been stretched out from prolonged wear oh and they're my mom's. lol I'm currently too lazy to go upstairs to get my own from my bedroom. 

My pajama pants are Harry Potter and are super comfy. If I could get away with wearing them out in public I most surely would, but most unfortunately I would not feel very comfy doing that.

I'll be getting a new pair of slippers this weekend. Black one's of course to go with the pants and black shirts I tend to wear with these.

My Harry Potter pet peeves... Part 1 : Things that should never have happened!

I am a firm believer that Ginny and Harry should never have been put together as a couple. She is by far the worst mate for Harry in my opinion. Harry is smart, he should have ended up with Hermione. Ron should have ended up with Luna and Ginny with Neville. Ron and Luna are both ditsy and a perfect match. Ginny and Neville looked cute together and should have been paired together.

  Sirius should never have been killed off. Siriusly {see what I did there?

} folks he should never have been killed off. First you kill off his parents and now you kill off his Godfather. pretty much his entire family was killed off and that's just a downright cruel thing to do. If you have to kill of Sirius then at least leave Remus Lupin alive so he had some kind of family alive.

Professor Snape shouldn't have died either. Honestly I would have liked to see him fall in love again with one of the other teachers. Maybe that would help him to loosen up a bit and to stop being so stuffy and cranky all the time. maybe that flying teacher, she had the hots for him. You could tell by the way she looked at him.

Harry Potter game coming soon!

Well there is going to be a "Pokemon Go" type game coming out for Harry Potter called "Harry Potter: Wizards Unite!"  

In the game you as a player will be able to cast spells and explore your surroundings. There will be a global mystery to solve and spells to cast. Along the way you will encounter Fantastic beasts and meet some of the characters from the novels along your journey. 

The plot line is.. There are traces of magic appearing around the Muggle world and it's up to you to help contain it. The magic is appearing in a chaotic manner and it's only a matter of time before the Muggles catch onto it.

Do you have food on your desk?

I always have some kind of food on my desk. Most of the time I have granola bars or trail mix, but every so often I have a bowl of oranges and banana's. At the moment my go to munchies are Cheese Its and Pumpkin Spice granola bars!

My tea kettle sits in the corner and I always have water in it ready to refill my coffee or tea mug. This is the current mug I'm using. I bought it at work a few weeks ago. We're getting Harry Potter merchandise in and that really makes me happy. lol

What kind of food do you keep on your desk?

My self care routine.

I have a normal self care routine that I do weekly. While some folks take a day to do everything, {Spa day!}, I do mine through out the week. I have no daily routine set for anything, it just simply happens. Anything that makes me feel at peace and content is in my self care routine.

~ Sleeping in on my days off. I hardly ever get to sleep in so when I am able, I just do it.

~ I have no problem changing out of one set of pajama's and into a clean pair and climb back in bed with a book and a cup of tea. I did this with each and every Harry Potter novel. 

~ I wash my face every morning, and night before bed. I will wash it in the afternoon if I plan to use one of my face masks. I have paper ones and also gel ones. I also keep a few of them in my purse. 

~ When my pup was alive we used to curl up in bed together and just spend the day there. He would curl up under the sheet and sleep while I read or did some writing. That's him in the pic snoozing and yes he snored. lol 

~ I'll grab a cup of coffee or tea and head outside. Normally I'll sit on the steps and just watch the world go by in my sleepy little neighborhood. It's time's like this when I'm grateful to live in a quiet area of the busy town.

Our gathering bombed, but I’m spending the day with my youngest. We made slime and I’m working on a few short stories for my All things Acklecki's group. lol

Went to Super Walmart {Twice!} for groceries and stopped in at Duncan Donuts for a cold drink. They had this sign up... who the hell charges 50 cents for a glass of ice 💦??? Madison has discovered the joys of a Butter Pecan Macchiato. lol

I had my AKF shirt on with Jared Padalecki... an elderly woman who looked to be in her 80’s told me that he was dreamy. I agreed with her and her granddaughters said “Eww Grandma!!!!”

Hotdogs 🌭      and Amish potato 🥔      salad later with iced tea! Then possibly fireworks later, I know I won't be going to those as I have to work in the morning. 
 I’m also going to attempt to teach myself how to knit and preparing a new Harry Potter blog!

I have loads of HP stuff that I did when I worked in daycare so I thought about assembling them all in one location... a blog would be a good place don'tcha think??

My 3 favorite ways to deal with stress..

When I get stressed out from the everyday trappings of life I have a few escapes... a few ways that I help to get rid of that stress.

~ Take a nap! When I'm super stressed then if I am able to and at home, I will put my pj's on and take a nap. The length of time really doesn't matter, I'll just sleep until I wake up.

~ Take a shower and meditate! I will get in the shower and stand under the water and do a waterfall meditation. I visualize the water coming from the shower head as a waterfall cleansing everything negative. 

~ Music heals the soul! I have some instrumental music that I enjoy listening to. I'll put on the Harry Potter soundtrack on my MP3 player and just chill out with one of the books for a few hours.

Hmm.. rough call..

I wouldn't be able to just bring 5, I definitely have more than 5 that would come with me. I would bring with me as much as I can LOL.

 Supernatural, Charmed, Arrow, Poldark, Hobbit & Lord of the Rings trilogy. 
Throw in BBC's shows Being Human, Musketeers, Keeping up with Appearances and Midsomer Murders.
I would also have all of the Harry Potter books and movies with me.
I would also have shelves full of notebook paper and binders. I would be doing a lot of writing to pass my time.

My favorite British Tv shows

I am seriously loving me some Netflix right now. I have been watching some British TV shows over the past few weeks and am loving it.

 "Sherlock" with Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman : These two were in The Hobbit so therefore I had to check it out.

"Robin Hood" with Richard Armitage : I will admit that only reason I watched this is because of Richard Armitage. Other shows on my list is North and South, Berlin Station as well as MI-5 as  Richard is in them.

"The Vicar of Dibley" with Dawn French : Normally I don't watch any religious shows like this, but have found that it's similar to "Are you Being Served" and am loving the Vicar. Dawn French is a riot and I love the show, not to mention she was the Fat Lady in the Harry Potter movies! Richard Armitage is in this as well at the end of the series. Unfortunately Vicar is no longer on Netflix.

"Broadchurch" with David Tennant :  I am a new fan of David's after seeing him in Jessica Jones. The storyline was a bit weird for me, but I will admit that the scenery was beautiful and well David is in it.

Doc Martin :  I didn't  think I would like this series, but I do. The scenery if absolutely amazing! 

Music soothes the soul

Everyone has that song that they can turn to when they need something to calm them down during those rough time's.
I have a whole list of songs that I turn to when I need to escape from this world for a while.
I'll put my headphones on and simply lay on my bed, eyes closed and listen and relax.
When I'm really stressed I will listen to Naturescapes or instrumental meditation music.
I listen to the local radio station that plays a lot of 80's music when I'm writing because it gets me going.
All of the music on my MP3 player is beneficial to me if I'm writing for the NaNoWriMo.
Love songs are played for those romance novels and I have metal for the other novels.

A lot of folks really don't understand as to how true this really is.. can you honestly tell me that you have never gotten transported to another world simply by just reading a book?

 

Not only do you go to amazing places, but look at all of the people and creatures you meet?

 

My heart still belongs in Middle Earth as well as the Wizarding World personally.

 

Harry Potter took us with him to Hogwarts and all over the Wizarding World a creation of J.K Rowlings, where we battled along side the trio of best friends as he fought the monsters and saved his home from a Dark Lord.

 

We were transported to Narnia just by flipping through pages of the book series by C.S Lewis, battling an evil witch and her horde of monsters to save Narnia.

 

We can't forget Tolkiens series The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit.. these books and characters are absolutely amazing and the lands and the Elven language Tolkien created is just as amazing.

 

In the Neverending Story a book called "The Neverending Story" takes a young boy named Bastian to Fantasia where he meets creatures and visits lands unknown and finds himself in the story and only he can save the land merely by giving the Child Empress a name.

 

In the Labyrinth, Sarah, who hopes to be a stage actress like her deceased mother, reads from a book and gets lost in the world of the Goblin King after her baby brother is taken by the King of the Goblins at her request.

 

So instead of getting lost in a brain numbing television show.. get lost in a book, your imagination will take you places beyond those that you have found secreted within it's pages.

I knew it!!!

So according to a new interview posted online by Wonderland magazine, JK Rowling say's that Hermoine should have been with Harry in the end and not with Ron.

Yep my friends, she actually said that in the interview!

The pairing of Ron and Hermoine was done based upon a form of wish fulfillment when she first began to write the novel. 

JK also mentioned that the pair would need marriage counseling.. lots of it!

Also according to Bonnie Wright who portrayed Ginny Weasley, she say's Ginny would have been fine if Harr and Hermione had hooked up.

J.K. Rowling working on Harry Potter spin-off movie

J.K. Rowling has teamed up with Warner Bros. for a Harry Potter spin-off film series, Deadline reports.
The franchise will be inspired by the Hogwarts textbook Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them and its author Newt Scamander. Rowling will make her screenwriting debut with Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, which is planned as the first film in a new series featuring magical creatures and characters, some of which will be drawn from her previousHarry Potter texts.
"It all started when Warner Bros. came to me with the suggestion of turning Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them into a film. I thought it was a fun idea, but the idea of seeing Newt Scamander, the supposed author of 'Fantastic Beasts,' realized by another writer was difficult," Rowling said. "Having lived for so long in my fictional universe, I feel very protective of it and I already knew a lot about Newt. As hard-core Harry Potter fans will know, I liked him so much that I even married his grandson, Rolf, to one of my favourite characters from the Harry Potter series, Luna Lovegood."
Inspired by Warner Bros. proposal, Rowling pitched her own idea for how Fantastic Beasts should look. "Although it will be set in the worldwide community of witches and wizards where I was so happy for seventeen years, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them is neither a prequel nor a sequel to the Harry Potter series, but an extension of the wizarding world," said Rowling. "The laws and customs of the hidden magical society will be familiar to anyone who has read the Harry Potter books or seen the films, but Newt's story will start in New York, seventy years before Harry's gets underway."
Fantastic Beasts will also be developed into a video game and have close ties with Pottermore.com, Rowling's highly interactive online Harry Potter platform.
