Titles

When I was in high school I used to write poetry and short stories. I always had a hard time with the titles, but the stories and poetry were easy for me.

When I'd turn something and without a title my teacher would say all stories in poetry have to have a title and every time I told her, "Well I can't come up with the title."

She would say get creative, look in the TV guides look at books in bookstores, look in the library look at titles on books and use your imagination.

So one thing I have discovered is.. EMAIL! I have come up with some great titles and blog post ideas from my email!

I had a Henry dream last night.

I stepped outside my front door and Roach was sitting there, Geralt was looking at the neighbor's car and was extremely confused. Then my neighbor's door opened and Henry and Kal walked out. The two stood there looking at each other and at the same time said "Fuck".

I petted Kal and turned around and went back inside, then came back out with a camera and snapped their picture. I also pulled a notebook and pen out of my purse {I carry one everywhere I go}.

Roach kicked the car and Geralt started grumbling while Henry says "Well this is awkward..."
I hugged Geralt and then sat down with my pen and notebook. Geralt and Henry watched as the words I wrote created a portal and standing on the other side was Ciri who was yelling for Geralt. He went back through, and Henry sat next to me on the step and said, "What else can you do with that pen?"

I smiled and wrote something down and he got all squirmy and said, "Well now..."

Then I woke up!

Wedding planning: Planning a fictional wedding

I used to grab those wedding planning magazines from the local grocery store in my teens because at the time I was planning a wedding.
Not mine, but a character in a novel I was in the process of writing at that time (20 years ago) was planning hers.
Mind you the wedding never happened after she found the groom in bed with his best man's fiancé the day before said wedding. lol

Anyway, I was reading through the magazines and brochures and at the time her wedding was outside in the forest behind her family's home. Chairs lined up on either side of the isle and a wide dark purple strip of carpet down the center aisle. Behind the alter where the pastor stood was a beautiful scene of trees and wildflowers of all shapes, sizes and colors.

A few things I learned while planning this wedding that almost ended up never happening... well eventually it happened, but with the groom's ex-best man instead.

1. Can't see each other before the wedding
Does talking to each other thru a stained-glass door count?

2. Old, new, borrowed and blue
She wore her gram's necklace that she wore on her wedding day, new blue heels, borrowed her mum's wedding dress and had blue forget me not flowers in her bouquet.

3. You have to cut a wedding cake
They had 10 cupcake towers of different flavors to pick from. Perks of the bride owning her own bakery!

4. Have to have a flower girl
Well, my female character had a pup who was her flower girl. The pup wore a cute dress and carried a basket of flower petals in her mouth.

The wedding went off without a hitch and next came to planning the honeymoon. I just gave up and let them figure it out themselves. lol
