The library books were devoured and then I would buy books from Barnes and Noble, read them and return them if I didn’t want to add it to my Witchcraft library. I have learned through the years that some of the things in the books don’t quite sit well with me so I work around them. Casting a circle is one of those things. Some witches say you must cast a circle, while other’s say it’s not necessary. I have spoken to many witches and they said the same thing. It’s a matter of choice.

How do you cast a circle?
For those who wish to cast one, but don’t know how, here is how I learned. This is straight out of my Book of Shadows. To cast a circle sit or lie down. Raise your energy by tightening your muscles and visualize your energy as a glowing ball of white light within you. Using your dominate hand you can direct this light out from you and into a small magick circle. You can send out this energy by visualizing it or you can walk around in a circle casting it using your power hand. You can sprinkle sea salt or blessed water around the circle to bless your sacred circle and can have your familiar in the circle with you as well.

What do I do?
Before I do any kind of Witchcraft magick I will visualize myself as well as my alter enveloped in a glowing ball of white light. This works very well for me and I have never had any problems by doing this. It does the same thing as casting a circle in my opinion.
