How to prepare for a hurricane!

Well today June 1st is the first day of hurricane season. I know that sucks massively, but there are ways that you can prepare for it to come. Check out these tips and let me know if I missed anything!

~ Cover those windows with plywood! Give your wallet a bit of help by preventing broken windows... you're wallet will thank you later.

~ Bring in your lawn decorations and furniture so you don't loose it. There's nothing worse than finding your garden gnome in an awkward position with the neighbors flamingo... people might talk!

~ Do you have a safe room? No not a safe word... a safe room.. this isn't 50 Shades of Gray! Someplace you can go to hang out while the hurricane is throwing it's monthly tantrum.

~ Make sure you have enough supplies to last you a few days.. heck a week would be even better. Stock up on batteries and candles and edible stuff.. you know.. chocolate and cookies and chips.. Seriously.. chocolate makes everyone feel better.

~ If you have to evacuate just remember that some folks won't let you take your pets with you. Make sure you have some kind of plan for them. Enough food and water and someplace safe. Personally I would never leave my pets behind, but that's just me.

~ Make an emergency bag... In this bag place the following..

 * Copies of drivers licenses and Id's.
* Birth certificates
* A change of clothes for everyone
*Food and water for 3 days.. Don't forget your pets as well!
*Spare cash or traveler's checks
* Local maps with safe places marked
Flashlights and batteries
Fully stocked first aid kit is a MUST!
3 days worth of medications
*Extra glasses/ contacts
* Cellphone chargers
