Lord of the Rings Trilogy

Not only is this an amazing story, but what really drew me to this trilogy is Viggo Mortensen. I know, I know, but he's just an actor!! WRONG, he's a brilliant actor!! He portrayed Aragorn {the hot dude with the kick ass sword in his hand} and really makes the movie for me. 

This trilogy consists of three separate movies. 
The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers {Filmed in 2002}
The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King {Filmed in 2003} 
The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring {Filmed in 2001}

The movies are set in Middle Earth and follow a young Hobbit named Frodo Baggins. he inherits the One Ring from his Uncle Bilbo and embarks on an adventure to get rid of the ring before the dark forces of Sauron can get their claws on it. During this journey, Frodo and the ring are protected by a group of friends and allies, who in the end become family.

Gandalf the Grey is a wizard who knows more than he let's on.
Aragorn is a Ranger and the rightful ruler of the kingdom of Gondor.
Legolas is an Elven Prince from Mirkwood.
Gimli is a Dwarf from the kingdom of Durin.
Boromir is a Prince of Gondor.
Merry, Sam and Pippin are from the Shire.

The first movie is currently on Netflix.
