I was reading through an old handwritten journal and reliving some amusing memories. Here’s one from a few years ago.
My mum went to eat with her boyfriend at Applebee’s. One of the regulars that they befriended there sits at the bar and plays the lotto all the time. This is a nightly routine for him. From what I was told he will spend at least $500 a night if he makes good earnings the night before. If he get’s a large amount in his winnings with the numbers, he brags to the folks at the bar rather loudly at that.
Well he went to a funeral out of town and came home to find that his apartment was robbed. He had some expensive things there that were stolen. Don’t get me wrong, I feel bad because he was robbed… no one likes to come back from a families funeral and deal with more bad news. I told my mum that he is one who likes to brag about his winnings and I’m sure he told the wrong person and was robbed.
I feel that it’s OK to talk to your friends about it, but don’t broadcast it out for everyone in a bar to know! You never know who is in there and who is really your friend.
