When Harry and his wifey left their positions as working Senior Royals they left spots open for the other minor royals to step up into the spotlight. Some folks just can't handle working. Personally, I would love to see Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie be able to step up and work for their Grammy. Mind you they do go to events as well, but I think they deserve a place in the spotlight!
Sophie and Edward would be great in that position as well. They would make great senior working royals. They are a much-needed addition to the Sr. Royals. Sophie is phenomenal, true to the family, true to the Crown, loyal, discreet, not an attention grabber, and works hard for the people.
The statue was unveiled on July 1st which would have been her 60th birthday. One thing I loved was that we shared a birthday. That day was my 52nd birthday. :)
I was very impressed with Prince Charles for not attending the unveiling of the
statue. He and Camilla opted to stay away as they felt that it would not have been a good thing to go. I do understand their feelings and 100% agree with them on that.
The statue was not as I expected and oh boy do a lot of folks hate it, but I think it's beautiful and is a great representation of her work that she lived her life for. I mean true the face doesn't look like her and the body is a bit buff, but it was her.
There were three children standing with her who represented her love of children and the work she had done with them around the world. To me the statue is beautiful. It sits in the sunken gardens at Kensington Palace where she lived with William and Harry when they were small.
