3 ways to entertain little ones when it's too cold to go outside.

During the winter it can be a bit harder to get outside, especially when the weather is in the negatives or there is a bitterly cold wind blowing!

In other words... someone ticked Elsa off and she's throwing a tantrum outside! If you know who did it then tell them to apologize!

Growing up my siblings and I used to entertain ourselves for hours on end just playing. Empty boxes became houses and rocket ships.

While sheets and blankets became forts with pillows, books and stuffed animals shoved inside became quiet places.

When I grew up and got into daycare I discovered other fun things to do with the little ones.

1. If you're home then strip that little one or put an art smock on them. Take a can of shaving cream and squirt a big glob of it in the center of the table. The kids can play with the cream, run cars through it and just squish it! Squish it good!!
You can take a Ziploc baggie and put some cream in there with food coloring. Squish it around and paint with it. After it dries it will be foamy, but the dried cream with get all flaky and it won't last very long.

2. Grab some pasta of all shapes and sizes, the ones with the holes in them please. Let the kids paint them and when dry they can make necklaces and bracelets.
You could substitute the pasta for cereal as well and they can actually eat their creations or hang them outside for the birds to eat!

3. Take some round coffee filters and spread them out flat on paper towels. Put wax paper down on the table because the table will get a bit messy for this one. Take the flattened filters and fold into triangles.
Adults can take scissors and cut them out to be snowflakes. Then take food dye and drip the dye on the folded snowflakes. When done unfold and spread out flat. Take a spray bottle with water and spray the snowflake so that it becomes tie dyed!
